Žaliūkiai Village Miller’s Farmstead-Museum
The space for ethnoculture, customs and traditions, activities and merry-making is surrounded by modern city. Here a miller’s farmhouse was recreated. The only survived in Šiauliai construction of Lithuanian traditional wooden architecture from the 2nd part of the 19th c. – Žaliūkiai Windmill was restored. All-year-round the everyday life of a miller’s family – grain grinding, bread baking – is going on; sometimes it is spiced by Lithuanian traditional calendar celebrations.
Visitors can order educational activities: “Bread baking”, “Advent – beliefs, predictions, spells…” or guided tour by a “miller” and bread tasting in Lithuanian, Russian, English languages.
