Premiere of Kaunas Dance Theatre “Aura” Performance "Dausos"

2025-08-13

The stage of the 22nd International Chaim Frenkel Villa Summer Festival welcomes back an exceptional contemporary dance company – Kaunas Dance Theatre “Aura” – presenting its latest premiere, “Dausos“.

This is not a performance with a clear beginning and end. It is an experience, in which choreographer Jacek Przybyłowicz invites the audience not to watch, but to live through it. Every movement, sound, and encounter in space serves as a key to an individual meaning, discovered uniquely by each viewer. “Dausos“ explores the human relationship with the environment, the relativity of time, and the emotions of unknown spaces – a dance narrative born not of words, but of the body.

The evening will open with “Preludas”, a movement composition created by Birutė Letukaitė – an unexpected work exploring the boundaries between documentary and theatre. It offers a glimpse into the personalities of “Aura’s“ dancers, their unique movement styles, and dance techniques. This authentic, free, and unrestrained introduction invites the audience backstage into “Aura’s“  creative world.
