On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., the stage in the Chaim Frenkel Villa Museum Park in Šiauliai will welcome world-class international music stars – the Italian jazz quartet “Double Breath” and the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra. This will be one of the most spectacular events of the 22nd Chaim Frenkel Villa International Summer Festival, promising an evening full of mastery, energy, and the freedom of improvisation.
The quartet’s leader, Italian chromatic harmonica virtuoso Gianluca Littera, who once left an unforgettable impression on the festival stage, returns this year with a new, vibrant program. Known worldwide for his ability to cross musical boundaries, Littera blends classical precision with jazz flair, performing both as a soloist and with renowned symphony and chamber orchestras in various countries around the globe.
Alongside Littera, “Double Breath” features talented Italian musicians: Fabio Gorlier (piano), Stefano Profeta (double bass), and Mattia Barbieri (drums). The ensemble’s name symbolizes the harmony between two worlds – the small, mobile harmonica and the rich, deep sound of the double bass. Their music weaves together classical, tango, and Latin motifs with original improvisations, conveying the atmosphere and energy of the Mediterranean. The quartet actively performs at international festivals across Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
For this concert, the quartet will be joined by the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, conducted by the festival’s artistic director, Lithuanian National Culture and Art Prize laureate Robertas Šervenikas. The refined blend of the orchestra’s and quartet’s sounds promises an unforgettable musical experience under the summer sky.
On August 20 at 10:00 p.m., the Chaim Frenkel Villa International Summer Festival program will feature the premiere of “Dausos” by Aura Dance Theatre from Kaunas, choreographed by Jacek Przybyłowicz. The full festival program is available at: https://www.ausrosmuziejus.lt/Naujienos/xxii-tarptautinio-chaimo-frenkelio-vilos-vasaros-festivalis-programa/
Each year, the program prepared by the festival’s artistic director, Robertas Šervenikas, surprises audiences with new, relevant performances while maintaining high cultural value. This year’s program includes jazz and classical music events, theatre, and dance. In July and August, the stage will host performers from Lithuania, Italy, and Latvia. As tradition, one performance will be dedicated to the youngest festival-goers.
The host of the events will be Raimonda Sližienė. Photography and filming will take place during the events. Tickets are available at Ticket Market and at the Chaim Frenkel Villa box offices.
