The new project "STOGAS FM" features jazz, alternative music, dance and the sound of classical instruments
This June, a new cultural program "Stogas FM" will launch on the roof terrace of the Museum of Photography (Vilniaus g. 140, Šiauliai), inviting you to experience professional live music and dance in an unexpected urban space - above the roofs of Šiauliai Old Town.
“Stogas FM” is part of the XXII International Chaimas Frenkelis Villa Summer Festival program – a festival that has been forming a tradition of high cultural value in Šiauliai for two decades. The organizer – Šiauliai “Aušros” Museum – aims not only to continue the dissemination of professional art, but also to offer new experiences, expand the audience, and create a dialogue between generations. This time, a new direction of the festival program is being developed in one of the museum’s departments – the Museum of Photography – presenting young, but highly professional and unique creators, whose original creations and performances will provide space for an informal, but high-quality cultural experience.
The unique performance space – the roof terrace of the Museum of Photography – will inspire new connections between urban spaces and the art scene, and will bring creative energy to the rhythm of the city. It is no coincidence that the name “Stogas FM” was chosen, emphasizing the open-air program and its dynamic idea. The initials of the Museum of Photography, recognizable in the identity, reflect the museum's interdisciplinary and broad activities, openness to various art forms, as well as the dissemination of musical culture.
For three evenings in June, the roof of the Museum of Photography will become a creative platform combining jazz, alternative music, contemporary dance and classical instruments. The first concert will take place on June 12, when the jazz punk band “Kanalizacija” will perform on stage, distinguished by its rebellious sound and strong stage energy. On June 18, we will see the contemporary dance troupe “ULNA” on the roof and their performance “From Silence – 4 Dance Paintings”, the premiere of which took place during the Lithuanian season in France. At the end of the month, on June 26, visitors will be invited to a sensitive musical journey, to which the unique creator and performer Ingaja and the Klaipėda Cello Quartet will invite.
All events of “Stogas FM” are free of charge. The events of the XXII International Chaim Frenkel Villa Summer Festival will begin traditionally, on July 6, in the Chaim Frenkel Villa Museum Park.
