in 2023 150 years have passed since the birth of Vladas Putvinskis-Pūtvis (1873-1929), a public figure, nurturer of Lithuania, creator of the Riflemen's Union and ideologue. To commemorate this occasion, Šiauliai "Aušros" museum has prepared and exhibits two exhibitions "Let the ideas of Vladas Pūtvis spread across the nation". The exhibitions are prepared on the basis of the archive of the Putvinski family kept in the museum. This archive is part of the Lithuanian national register of the UNESCO program "Memory of the World". One exhibition until 2024. April 24 exhibited in the Venclauskių home-museum, the next - a mobile exhibition in 2023. November 24 - December 14 can be seen in the Šiauliai History Museum. Later, this exhibition will travel around Lithuania, to various places related to the Putvinski family and activities. The first expected place of exhibition is the headquarters of the Lithuanian Rifle Association in Kaunas.

The exhibitions displayed in the museum are complemented by meetings with V. Putvinskis-Pūtvis, researchers of the activities of shooters. This time Kaunas professor Jonas Vaičenonis from Vytautas the Great University will be a guest at the museum. The professor's research areas: Lithuanian military history, history of the interwar Lithuanian army, Lithuanian Riflemen's Union, history of diplomacy, etc. The scientist has written various works on military topics: "Lithuanian army in the vortex of the political life of the state (1927-1940)", 2003, "Lithuanian military uniforms and light weapons in the 20th century", 2004, "Lithuanian army in the struggle for independence 1918-1920 .", electronic edition, 2005, "Lithuanian war. From the Balts to the 21st Century: Armies, Fortification, Battles and Warlords', 2011. etc. J. Vaičenonis wrote many scientific articles. It is connected with the "Aušros" Museum of Šiauliai by previous years of cooperation. The scientist wrote one of the 2013 of the museum's publication "1863 m. Uprising: Faces, Names, Stories" of articles on the military aspect of the Uprising. This time in the museum prof. J. Vaičenonis will talk about the Lithuanian Riflemen's Union, its activities in the interwar period, key personalities, reforms, the integration of the Riflemen's Union into the Lithuanian defense system and discuss the problems that have arisen.
