This is already the 8th International Ch. Frenkelis Villa Summer Festival which, as ussual, significantly enriches Šiauliai city's summer life. In the swirl of easygoing amusements, wonderful classic music makes us to pause and quivers our souls. Every year the International Ch. Frenkelis Villa Summer Festival attracts admirers of serious music. This year, starting already with the first Thursday of August, we invite both Šiauliai residents and the guests of the city to bid farewell to summer with five unforgettable concerts, to enjoy musical games-tricks of Rafailas Karpis, Eugenijus Chrebtovas, Justas Šervenikas, admire virtuoso sound of pianist Young-Choon Park's grand piano melodies, to travel into the peace, together with Sonata and Rokas Zubovas, soloist Aušra Liutkutė, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the death of M. K. Čiurlionis, dive into the sounds harmony, created by Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and violinist Diana Galvydytė in a new Villa's space – its Park, and experience the beauty of musical sounds together with Šiauliai Chamber Orchestra and Raminta Vaicekauskaitė during the closing Festival's concert.
Unique space of the historic building – Ch. Frenkelis Villa and its Park will be filled with wonderful classical music. You are cordially welcome to the concerts every Thursday in August and on the 3rd of September at 6 pm.

Already the eighth summer there will be continued this wonderful cultural tradition in Šiauliai – International Ch. Frenkelis Villa Summer Festival, that envites to enjoy the performances of musical virtuosos, winners of various festivals. This year the five festival's concerts will surprise the audience with tune of serious and playful music, which will not let you remain untouched.
The Art Director of the 8th Festival is Robertas Šervenikas – initiative, productive and authoritative conductor, especially appreciable for his active and miscellanious creative expression – premieres of symphonic music created by Lithuanian composers and suggestive, mature interpretations of modern and classical music. Intensive creative activities of Maestro in 2005 was appraised with Lithuanian National Prize.
The integral part of the International Ch. Frenkelis Villa Summer Festival is the only one in North Lithuania and one from a few in the whole country architectural monuments of Modern (Art Nouveau, Secession) style from the beginning of the 20th c. – Ch. Frenkelis Villa. After long years (more than one hundred) of colourful life, as a dwelling house, Hebrew Gymnasium, military hospital, the Villa now reveals miscellanious period of museum life. Besides the original expositions the restored Villa became the prestigious place of Šiauliai city. Official receptions, various kinds of events, concerts of high cultural level are being arranged here.

Rafailas Karpis is a popular opera singer (tenor) in Lithuania. This charismatic soloist - a winner of wide range competitions – in 2008 got "Operos švyturys" (Opera Lighthouse) award and was announced to be opera's hope of the year. In 2010, he was accepted to be the best performer of the second-row roles in opera. R. Karpis' repertoire includes many Yiddish songs. The soloist has performed in Estonia, Finland, Sweden, USA, France, Slovenia, Israel, and Spain.
Eugenijus Chrebtovas – talented opera soloist, a laureate at 2010 International Shalyapin Competition "Balsai virš Plioso" (Voices over Plyos), well-known participant at "Triumfo arka" (an Arch of Triumph) and a soloist of pop-clasical group "el Fuego". He participated in all the concerts, arranged by Opera Studio of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, performed solo basso in large-scale vocal-instrumental pieces of music.
Justas Šervenikas – expresive artist of younger generation, pianist. Latterly, J. Šervenikas prefers to play with vocalists and to have chamber concerts. He has also performed with Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Lithuanian Academy's of Music and Theatre and Klaipėda Chamber Orchestras.

Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra – one of the most outstanding and appraised in the world Lithuanian orchestras, formed in 1960 by professor Saulius Sondeckis. The success led to concert engagements in major European halls, in North and South America, Japan, Egypt, Republic of South Africa. The Orchestra has performed with a number of outstanding soloists, conductors and choirs – both during concerts and in numerous recording studios. Since December 2008, the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Orchestra is famous violinist Sergej Krylov (Italy).
Robertas Šervenikas – a brilliant conductor, recognized in Lithuania and abroad for his expertise in classical and contemporary repertoire. Since 1993, he conducted Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, now he is its second conductor. Robertas Šervenikas participated in numerous local and foreign festivals. Together with Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra he participated in Great Britain, with Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra – in Japan. He is often invited to conduct such orchestras as Israeli "Camerata", Saint Petersburg Philharmonic (Russia), Slovenia National Opera, Russian State Symphony, Royal Philharmony (Great Britain) and other foreign orchestras. In 2008-2010, he conducted at the Munich State Opera. Since 2008, R. Šervenikas is a Music Director of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Diana Galvydytė – creative violinist, whose recitals have been welcomed with success in the most famed halls in Europe. She is a laureate and award-winner at 15 international competitions for young artists. Her great strides achieved in 2000 helped her to become a prize-winner of European Cultural Foundation "Pro Europe". Due to her international performing success, the president of the Lithuanian Republic, Algirdas Brazauskas, awarded Diana with a special commendation. D. Galvydytė, who currently lives in London, has given a number of solo performances with Lithuanian National, Lithuanian State, Lithuanian Chamber, M. K. Čiurlionis Art School's Symphony orchestras, St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra of Vilnius, Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra in London, Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Madeira Classical Orchestra, and Charkov Symphony Orchestra. The soloist has held concerts in Lithuania, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Italy, and USA.

Sonata and Rokas Zubovas – expressive duo of pianists, which started performing together in 1997. Duo Zubovas has performed with Kaunas Symphony Orchestra, Šiauliai, Klaipėda orchestras, Vilnius St. Christopher, Kaliningrad Philarmonic (Russia) Chamber orchestras, "Dainava" choir in Chicago (USA), participated in different international festivals. Duo Zubovas with their concert programme performed in the USA, Canada, Argentina, Uruguay, Iran, Norway, Finland, France, Italy, Switzerland, Serbia, Hungary, Slovenia, Latvia, Russia, and in various Lithuanian towns.
Aušra Liutkutė is an active teacher at Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and a soloist. She is a prize-winner at the B. Grincevičiūtė Chamber Singing Competition (in 1991) and V. Jonuškaitė-Zaunienė Competition (in 2000). The soloist has held her concerts in the USA, the Netherlands, Belgium, Slovenia, Latvia, Belarus, etc.

Young-Choon Park – South-Korean born pianist, whose mastery is designated by critics as high-powered, passionate, fiery, and highly technical. Pianist is touring intensively, giving over fifty concerts each year in Europe, Scandinavia, South Africa, the USA. Young-Choon Park participates in different international music festivals, she has played with many leading orchestras: Stuttgart Philharmonic (Germany), Lithuanian National Symphony, George Enescu Philharmonic (Romania), Sofia Philharmonic (Bulgaria), Baden-Badener Philharmonic (Germany), Karlovy Vary Symphony (Czech Republic), Warsaw Philharmonic Symphony (Poland), Vienna (Austria), and other orchestras.

Šiauliai Chamber Orchestra was established in 1989. Most of its performers had formerly been playing in People's Symphony Orchestra. Chamber Orchestra collaborates with Lithuanian choirs, Lithuanian and foreign soloists, conductors, there is a linkage with German musicians. The Orchestra has performed in various Lithuanian towns, toured in Germany, Italy, Poland. Orchestra's repertoire includes musical pieces of different periods and genres, prevailing – baroque and classical music. Artistic Director and Conductor – Jonas Janulevičius.
Jonas Janulevičius – enthusiastic conductor, who has participated in many international competitions. J. Janulevičius started his conductor's activity in 1998, performing with Reed Orchestra "Trimitas", Šiauliai Chamber Orchestra, Lithuanian State and National Symphony Orchestras. The conductor is annually invited to conduct at international festival "Operetė Kauno pilyje" (Operetta in Kaunas Castle). In 2006-2009, J. Janulevičius toured in various towns of Russian Federation, where performed together with Youth Symphony Orchestra of Russian Federation. Latterly, J. Janulevičius arranges numerous concert programmes with Šiauliai Chamber Orchestra, conductor of which he is since 2006. From the same year, he is also a conductor of Kaunas State Musical Theatre. J. Janulevičius is a teacher as well. Since 2002, he is a leader of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, Kaunas Faculty's Chamber Orchestra, he also established J. Naujalis Music Gymnasium's Symphony Orchestra and Kaunas Academic Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Raminta Vaicekauskaitė – charismatic soloist of Kaunas State Musical Theatre, a laureate of many republican and international singing competitions. In 2006, for Maritza's role (I. Kálmán's "Countess Maritza") she was awarded with "Auksinis scenos kryžius" (Golden Cross of the Stage) and Fortuna award; in 2008 - awarded with the Golden Cross of the Stage and Orpheus for Hana Glavari's (F. Lehár's "The Merry Widow"), Ninon Tisje's (I. Kálmán's "The Violet of Montmartre") and Micaëla's (J. Bizet "Carmen") roles. The soloist actively gives concerts, arranges solo programmes, sings with the most famous Lithuanian music performers, conductors, choirs and orchestras, takes part in supreme music festivals both in Lithuania and abroad.
